Psychodynamic Counselling
Although there are many theories about the human condition and how to approach what ails us, studies have shown that as counsellors become more experienced, there are less differences in the practice of counselling between the practitioners of the different schools.
The theories are concerned with the processes that determine the development of the human psyche, how development takes place and the conditions under which things can go wrong.
We seek to grapple with the complexity and conflicts of the human condition and are therefore interested in the meaning life experiences have for the individual client. How the client perceives and reacts to the world is enacted with the therapist, and the therapeutic relationship is thus central to the work.
